The region

Fulvy is situated between the towns of Tonnerre and Montbard on the D905 with the closest regional cities being Auxerre (50km), Troyes (90km) and Dijon (100km). These are beautiful cities that feature both historical pedestrian downtown districts, with local artisanal shops, and more modern shopping outlets. The Tonnerrois region is peaceful countryside, but it is also home to many notable chateaux and historical sites. The nearby town of Ancy-le-Franc (4 km) is the site of a beautiful Renaissance castle that is a must-see. Just outside of Montbard is the Abbey de Fontenay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Further south of Montbard is the archaeological site and museum of Alésia which performs historical reenactments of the Roman era. Noyers-sur Serein, Flavigny-sur-Ozerin, and other towns considered among the "most beautiful villages" of France are within an easy drive. In Tonnerre you will find Fosse de Dionne, an old water source which is also located on the route to Santiago de Compostela. There are easily accessible walking and biking paths, especially the path along the Canal de Bourgogne which is less than a kilometre away. Tennis courts and a beautiful golf course can be found in the town of Tanlay (20 km) which also has a beautiful castle. The camping site la Cascade in Tonnerre is a great place to swim and picnic with children. This region has sublime wine regions, including Chablis (20km) and the Epineul / Tonnerois (22 km). Further south are the wine regions of Beaune and Dijon. There are many opportunities to enjoy a wine tasting or vineyard tour. One popular wine route is along the Lac de Marcenay (30 km), where kids can also swim.
